Marvelous May

Welcome to May, everyone! After a fall virtually without snow, and a spring virtually without grass, we come to May, where the snow has finally melted! Again. And, of course, the all-knowing weather-people are callling for a rain-snow mix yet to come. But we hope they aren't right this time. Rain would be fine, but it would certainly be nice to get a bit of a greenery to stay! I most definitely would not complain about getting some warm temperatures, and staying as such. Not warm temperatures myself, though, as I was running a bit of a fever the past few days, but I'm getting better now, I think. Hmm, that was a confusing statement, but I'm sure after reading the whole sentence you'll understand.
Guess what? I got accepted to the college that I was trying to get into, and I got accepted into res as well! Excellent. It seems utterly surreal, after 2 years of working, to be going back to school full time. It should be fun though!
I still have the film for my parents' old camera, but I need my folks to show me how it works. So, you can still expect some new shots to come in, but first, I need to have a weekend off where I actually remember it/am not completely busy/my parents are home too. One of these days I will be taking some more pictures however!
A couple of days ago, one of my friend's from MB dropped by with her boyfriend, so it was great to have a little visit with her... I haven't seen a number of my friends for quite a while... the last time I took a trip out there was back in June, for my sister's grad (though I did see one of my friends in August, as we were going to a wedding together).
Anyway, now that I've bored you to tears with all the random happenings of my life at the moment, I'll leave you with the:

Guess what? I got accepted to the college that I was trying to get into, and I got accepted into res as well! Excellent. It seems utterly surreal, after 2 years of working, to be going back to school full time. It should be fun though!

WOW, it's April already! It seems like last year's April was only a little while ago.
I can't say that there's that much new going on... I'm still waiting to hear back from the college I applied for, so I'm crossing my fingers on that note. I've got an orthodontist appt. coming up (OK, you can all start snoring now), even though I've already had braces!! My teeth were fine for a few years, but then my front bottom 2 teeth started to shift back! So, I'm trying to get something done about them before I turn 21, and my dad's coverage runs out on me. Right now they're thinking something like inivis-a-line braces or a retainer would fix it. Thankfully, it won't be anywhere near as long as the time that my braces took - only a few months for the new solution, really.
And, be amazed - I've actually uploaded some stuff lately!! And not just to my scraps!! But, anyone who's watching me has probably already seen that, so that's not really news either...
Truth be told, I really don't have that much to talk about right now... We'll see what May brings I guess...
Oh, though, I'm going to see if I can give my parents' old camera a try... I just have to buy some film for it. That's right, I'm going to give traditional photography a try! Although, their old camera is probably a lot better than my new (OK, not entirely new... I think I got it in... 2004 or 2005) one anyway!

DST - Springtime??

Hello, and welcome to March! Well, OK, it's been March for a while now, but this is the first chance I've had to write in my journal. If you notice the little things about my journals, you'll see I'm still reading the same book... I haven't been reading quite as much lately, because I've been busy doing other things!
Anyhow, we're into daylight saving time now... which means having to get up an hour early >.< However, it also means it's almost spring, and around here, it's showing... the majority of the snow is gone. One of these years, I'm going to have to get some decent snow shots, but I never seem to get around to doing it.
Recently, I've had a bit of a conundrum about what to do about school... I was trying to decide whether I would work part time while doing school (Early Childhood Education) part time and online, or move into the city (an apartment), and take my ECE full time, or go back to University, live in res, and get back into teaching. Well, I think I've finally decided, but it's not really any of those options!! See, I was talking to a customer at the store I work at, and they said they went to college and did a transfer program from college to the University (for their teaching)... which I thought about, and decided I would try. So, that's the plan... now I just have to cross my fingers that I'll stick to it. I was trying to weigh out the pros and cons of different options before... University costs more and takes longer, but it's more with the age group of kids I'd like to work with. Plus, the residences they have at the University don't have kitchenettes, and I don't think I could live off of nothing but cafeteria/commercial food. As for teaching, the thing is... I'm not the best speaker, but I think I might enjoy it more. And, you get paid more as a teacher than working in a daycare. On the other hand, you have to have better marks as a teacher... but I guess that just means I'll have to be really dedicated, and work harder. Well, wish me luck!
Oh, and I hope everyone has a Happy St. Pat's Day, and a Happy Easter - in case I don't get a journal in by that time.

I'm Back!

Well, I just got back from my vacation to visit a few of my relatives yesterday. I had a great time, and got some shopping, movies, bowling and swimming in... my cousins seem so much older, but they're still a little crazy (in a good way - for the most part!!). Interesting fact - I'm the oldest cousin on both sides. Anyways, I still have today and tomorrow off, but it's kind of like going into shock to be back home again 
Other than that, well, there's snow outside, but I have yet to take some pictures. Oh, and I'm addicted to Jasmine Tea now! It's incredible!
My sister will be coming back near the end of Feb. for her reading week, so it'll be good to see her again.
